Mia Mo is driven by a deep passion for helping women of color bring their visions to life, restoring and building their confidence by bringing out their inner beauty. She chose the beauty industry because of its diverse opportunities to style women for every facet of life—from fashion and entertainment to corporate environments and special celebrations. Her love for bridal styling was sparked by her experiences at New York Fashion Week, where she sought to diversify her daily routine in the salon. What began as a professional endeavor evolved into a profound connection with love and relationships, particularly for Black women. Mia values the opportunity to counter negative media portrayals by celebrating love and joy through weddings. A specialist in healthy hair extensions, she believes that true protective styling should leave natural hair healthier than before, a philosophy that forms the foundation of her sew-in techniques and the "My Hair Goals" program. Mia aspires to be a beacon of light, love, and inspiration in the beauty industry, empowering women to pursue their dreams and ensuring they look amazing along the way.

Mia Mo’s journey as a hairstylist began at just 11 years old. She learned to cornrow from a friend in her junior high class in Carson, CA. She developed her skills early on however It took Mia many years to muster the courage to get her license. Leaving university against her Jamaican and Nigerian parents wishes to fully immerse herself in and attend cosmetology school. A pivotal moment came in her early 20s while she was working at call centers and attending Arizona State University. Mia discovered that doing hair was not only more fulfilling but also more satisfying than any corporate job. Her friends, family, and coworkers became her first clients, and they saw remarkable results with her sewing methods. However, Mia felt that she lacked formal education, so in 2021, she left corporate, moved back home with her mother, and enrolled at the Studio Academy of Beauty in Phoenix, Arizona. There, she confronted the harsh climate’s effects on her hair, which led her to develop a better regimen. This journey ultimately resulted in the creation of her "My Hair Goals" program in 2018, which has since been instrumental in helping many women of color grow and maintain healthy hair. Mia’s career also includes significant work in the entertainment industry. She has worked on set in Los Angeles, styling hair for multiple movies that have reached number one on streaming platforms like Tubi and Netflix, showcasing her versatility and skill in the industry.

Outside of work, Mia Mo is a true artist and creative. She enjoys dancing, singing, writing, and aspires to act one day. She is also a proud dog mom to a three-year-old Lhasapoo named Marvel, with whom she loves to rollerblade at the beach. Mia cherishes hosting game nights and karaoke sessions with friends, traveling to new and familiar countries.
