Mia Mo is driven by a deep passion for helping women of color bring their visions to life, restoring and building their confidence by bringing out their inner beauty. She chose the beauty industry because of its diverse opportunities to style women for every facet of life—from fashion and entertainment to corporate environments and special celebrations. Her love for bridal styling was sparked by her experiences at New York Fashion Week, where she sought to diversify her daily routine in the salon. What began as a professional endeavor evolved into a profound connection with love and relationships, particularly for Black women. Mia values the opportunity to counter negative media portrayals by celebrating love and joy through weddings. A specialist in healthy hair extensions, she believes that true protective styling should leave natural hair healthier than before, a philosophy that forms the foundation of her sew-in techniques and the "My Hair Goals" program. Mia aspires to be a beacon of light, love, and inspiration in the beauty industry, empowering women to pursue their dreams and ensuring they look amazing along the way.

Mia Mo’s journey in the beauty industry began at just 11 years old, motivated by the desire to earn money independently after her father returned to Nigeria. She learned to cornrow from a friend in Los Angeles, quickly realizing the value of money and developing her skills early on. It took Mia a decade to muster the courage to leave a four-year college and fully immerse herself in cosmetology. A pivotal moment came in her early 20s while she was working at call centers and attending Arizona State University. Mia discovered that doing hair was not only more fulfilling but also more lucrative than any corporate job. Her friends, family, and coworkers became her first clients, and they saw remarkable results with her sewing methods. However, Mia felt that she lacked formal education, so in 2021, she took her severance package from State Farm, moved back home with her mother, and enrolled at the Studio Academy of Beauty in Phoenix, Arizona. There, she confronted the harsh climate’s effects on her hair, which led her to develop a better regimen. This journey ultimately resulted in the creation of her "My Hair Goals" program in 2018, which has since been instrumental in helping women grow and maintain healthy hair. Mia’s career also includes significant work in the entertainment industry. She has worked on set in Los Angeles, styling hair for multiple movies that have reached number one on streaming platforms like Tubi and Netflix, showcasing her versatility and skill in the industry.

Mia’s immediate goals include establishing her teams in California, Arizona, and Texas with like-minded individuals and offering continued education to beauty professionals. Her long-term vision is to expand the "My Hair Goals" program to salons across the nation, allowing clients to find stylists who share Mia’s dedication to hair health and growth. Currently, Mia is restructuring the "My Hair Goals" products and subscription box to offer a monthly service and will soon be adding hairpieces for brides, ensuring they have everything they need for their special day. These goals are aligned with Mia’s mission to extend her influence beyond what her hands can physically reach, achieved through products and by training more professionals in her methods. Outside of work, Mia Mo is a true artist and creative. She enjoys dancing, singing, writing, and aspires to act one day. She is also a proud dog mom to a three-year-old Lhasapoo named Marvel, with whom she loves to rollerblade at the beach. Mia cherishes hosting game nights and karaoke sessions with friends, traveling to new countries, and visiting her mother’s home country, Jamaica. As a first-generation American on both sides of her family, Mia is planning to launch the Glam Goddess Retreat next year in Jamaica. The retreat will help beauty professionals refocus, reset, and realign with their goals. Proceeds from the retreat will go towards helping families who had to leave their children behind to create a better life in America, with a foundation named in honor of Mia’s grand aunt, who helped many family members as they came to the US.
